Message You shift the pathy in and out of 4WD, the QX transfers power automatically anywhere between 0% and 50% to the front when in full auto mode, via a multi-plate clutch in the center diff. it's a system derived from the Skyline GTR's ATESSA, a slightly more truck-like version of what's currently in the FX35, FX45 and G35. it's definitely more car-like and optimized for dry roads, freeway speeds, etc., where the pathy is true truck 4WD and designed for offroad.

There's still a 2WD-only mode and a 4WD only mode, though, where you can force the diff to lock either open or closed. I've read that you can wear the clutches excessively with towing large loads if it's in Auto, but keeping it in 2 would mitigate that risk.
